Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul

Josiah Conder, 1836

Tis not that I did choose Thee,
For Lord, that could not be;
This heart would still refuse Thee,
Hadst Thou not chosen me...

My heart owns none before Thee,
For thy rich grace I thirst;
This knowing, if I love Thee,
Thou must have loved me first.

  1. Thanks, Rich, for posting this. I've heard a great deal about "Agency" and "Choice" recently. I am so glad the Good Shepherd came seeking me, that He found me, and that He keeps me in His hand so that I'll never be lost again. I responded, yes, tis true, but how could I refuse such an offer!!

  2. God always wins. Shawne sent me this poem for my birthday. I really love it.

  3. Perfect concept on how we relate to the Lord! Josiah Conder understood this and he used simple poetry to produce a profound thought. Thanks for sending it on to all of us.
