o matter how you may have come down on the issue of universal health care, I’m glad someone is carefully reading Nancy Pelosi’s almost 2,000-page health care bill. House Republical Leader John Boehner’s staff has discovered a provision in the bill mandating premiums be paid by anyone opting for the Government-run healthcare. These premiums are to be used to pay for elective abortions. For shame. [Read about it here.]
It’s a slippery slope, as many others have said. About a year ago I created this advertisement to show where things could be headed. But even in this ad, it is asking people to volunteer to contribute to the murder of an innocent child. I never thought our government would try to mandate that we pay for such a thing.
It's sad. I appreciate the efforts of those who are in Washington, DC, now, protesting this bill.
ReplyDeleteOne of my coworkers was at the protest and just a little while ago sent some pictures she took while she was there. I'm glad the people are standing up and making their thoughts known. That that government of the people, by the people, and for the people should not perish from the earth.

ReplyDeleteI happen to agree that the Government should not be paying for abortions, in most situations. However I find it irronic that people like Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann are leading the charge to squash a public health care plan. She has a right to her opinion, but to continually boast that she represents "real Americans" who love freedom is crazy. (I've yet to meet an American who said he/she hated freedom.) On top of this, people like Bachmann only believe in freedom for people who are just like them. She has said several times that Gay marriage is her number one issue. Not only is she against gay marriage, but she is also oppossed to health benefits for partners of a gay person. And what is worse is that she chooses to demonize gays with scare tactics...

She also told Chris Matthews that there should be a committee to investigate which members of congress held anti American views. As if we should all have the same views.
YES...Lets stop abortions. But enough with the loons like Bachmann and Glenn Beck leading the fight. Let them have their views, but this hiding behind the flag and freedom, whenever an issue like this comes up, is sickening.
