My son is loving summertime. Two summers ago he was in a residential treatment center. Last year he had just been discharged from the center and was getting his feet under himself regarding living at home with his family. So this seems like a very new experience to him and he is eating it up. He's sleeping late into the day. He's riding his bike, and his wagon, and his scooter. He's chasing the wild animals in the yard. He's playing video games. He's bugging his parents. And he's just about the happiest teenager ever. It's a great thing to see.
In this photo he's playing on his tire swing, which used to hang on a tree at the back of our yarda good hundred yards or so from our back door. That's the tee in this photo. He wanted me to move the swing closer to the house so he could be near us when he uses it. So it now hangs about 25 feet from our back door and right next to our outdoor patio. He loves it there, even though we usually aren't around when he is swinging.
Isn't summer great?
And this summer it must be a joy to see him playing and just enjoying life -- the way summer was meant to be enjoyed. Summer is great.
