Setting a course for a new path

H
ave you ever wondered if God was chasing you down? Well... he’s chasing me right now. Right NOW!

I have been told that when God chases you, he’s not finished with you yet. I guess that was supposed to be encouraging.

But... I am left with the reins... and nowhere to steer the carriage.

No... that’s probably exaggerating a bit. But it kind of feels that way.

And so...

God has gotten my attention in the usual way—with a 2x4 upside the head... and I finally recognize it. And so...

I am embarking on a new path... a new course. One that is open to God’s leading. And... as a result, I need to spend more time in his word. I need to study his truths. So, as we speak, I am reinstalling my bible software. I am committing to a new era... an era in which I will post regularly about what God is saying through his word. At least what he’s saying to me.

If you would like to come along on the journey, you are welcome to do so. Let me know your thoughts. I am a firm believer in collaboration. After all... iron sharpens iron. Please sharpen me. And let’s take this trip together.

We travel paths where angels fear to tread... but I am hoping that even the angels will interact as I search for God’s nuggets of truth. After all... they are God’s highest creation.

I know I have not posted here regularly enough to maintain a faithful following. I intend to correct that.

Embark with me... on a journey into God’s truth. Let’s explore his word.

Before I go... just a comment on the new blog header....

Normally I post blog headers of pictures that I have taken. But... part of this new direction is the fact that God reached down and grabbed my attention by obliterating my camera and lens. I’m embarrassed to say that the combination of the two is worth about $5,000. And so... for the first time in about 40 years, I am without a camera. I’m having a bit of trouble adjusting to the fact that my only cameras are my iPhone and my iPad.

Before crushing my camera, God also took my music away. Can you say, "Wake Up Call"? So... I have no music. I have no camera. I have God. He is not finished with me yet. Well... he’s not finished, but he’s obviously quite torqued. And I think I had better listen.

The blog header... I didn’t take it. And... I don’t have a camera anymore, so I can’t even imitate it.

And so I am borrowing it. It seemed to work well for April Fool’s day.

Come with me on our journey toward God’s truth. Let’s do this together.

  1. I have been told recently that "You knew you weren't supposed to move there. Now God is just cleaning up your mess and taking you to a different level."

Hmmmm, Rich, I agree! Yes, I can say "wake up call" and with that, I want to share a verse with me that literally had me startled:
    Isaiah 52 Awake, awake, Zion,
    clothe yourself with strength!
Put on your garments of splendor,
    Jerusalem, the holy city.
    The uncircumcised and defiled
    will not enter you again.
    2 Shake off your dust;
    rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem.
Free yourself from the chains on your neck,
    Daughter Zion, now a captive.
