You've seen this photo before.
I took this photo at Panera Bread a few weeks ago and then played with it a bit in Photoshop to try to bring out some visible features in the shadow areas and to try to tone down the blown out highlights. The result of my Photoshop work is seen in the header photo above.
I then use Photomatix Pro to create a high dynamic range mix of three different exposures of the same photo. The result is below. I think it's an interesting comparison and I like both of them.
