Blog Header - December 22, 2008

Today's blog header is a photo of our house. I took this picture last year when we finished decorating the house. The red tree on the left side of the photo is actually in our enclosed porch. We always get a real tree for the living room. We love the smell of the tree and it just seems more like Christmas when we put up the real tree. The porch tree is an artificial tree that Kim used as a Christmas portrait prop a few years ago.

This year's living room tree is much smaller than the one in this photo because Grandma and Grandpa Gelina will be visiting us this Christmas. We usually get large white pine trees and they fill half the room with their beautiful, soft branches. This year we went for a compact fir tree in order to maintain some of the "living room" in the living room. It's so much better to have family in the house than a large tree.

Merry Christmas.

  1. Pretty. When do mom and dad get in, I've forgotten.

  2. They'll be here sometime Wednesday afternoon (Christmas Eve). We're really looking forward to having them here. The last time they visited Lynchburg, we hadn't fully moved into this house yet and were still using lawn furniture in the house.

  3. Wow, it will be really fun enjoying them, then. We have been invited to drive up to NY for Lance's brother's birthday. Don't know if we'll make it, but it's been awhile since we were in NY.

  4. Make sure you get your shots before going and check that you'll be allowed to come back to our country when you're done visiting. Yankeeville is a very scary place.

It would be fun to visit for Lance's brother's birthday. If you get to visit, you'll have to make sure that he knows Lance was a wise man. I know my sister would love a golden opportunity like that to raz me. I can hear it now: "What, were all the other potential actors out of town for Christmas?" and "They don't believe in type-casting there, do they?"
