Vacation-prompted memories

Our son floating in the pool

My wife has been posting a series on her blog about her memories of childhood. This series took her to some of our old photo albums and we have been enjoying looking at some of these old photos.

We will be heading to Tennessee for vacation this coming Saturday and will be visiting some family members that we haven't seen since the time of these old photo albums. My wife's cousin Wendy and her family are in many of these photos—along with our son as a 1-year-old. He is now 13 years old and we have not seen Wendy or her family since then. It will be good to see them again.

Our son driving furiously

There were also some photos in the album from our last trip to Dollywood Amusement Park, which is where we're headed on this upcoming vacation again. David had such a great time there as a baby. He giggled the whole time and absolutely loved the many rides designed for very small children.

In the picture above you can see him driving furiously in his motorcar. The scary thing is that he still loves cars as much as he did then and he still wants to drive furiously. Except that now he is less than three years away from driving age. YIKES!
