God protect America. I put up a post at my group blog calling for prayer yesterday just hours before Stupak gave in. My agnostic blog colleague responded to Stupak's announcement with a post headed, "So Much for the power of prayer." I felt sick.
I don't mean to cast everyone in the same mold, but I don't think God enters into the picture in the mind of a Democrat. I might not like Republicans a lot of the time, but Democrats seem to be the embodiment of pure evil.
They don't call it the Party of Death for nothing.
But understand: My blog colleague is _against_ the healthcare takeover, just as I am. He just doesn't believe in God. So to him, the fact that I had called for prayer a few hours before Stupak caved in was this sort of bitter irony. A kind of "so where is your God" thing. I felt like asking God if He couldn't have seen His way clear to stopping the bill just as a sign to my blog colleague that He exists. :-) But that would be presumptuous.
